Dieter Koschina, José Avillez, Miguel Laffan, Vitor Matos and Matteo Ferrantino presented a real collection of culinary art at the OBSESSION Food Festival 2015 as part of the TASTE PORTUGAL LONDON 2014/15 programme.

A-Team most certainly delivered’
HAILED AS the next big thing in the world of international cuisine, OBSESSION's Portuguese evening promised a full house at Northcote an extraordinary and different dinner, and the Portuguese A-Team most certainly delivered a whole lot more than expected.
The evening opened with an appetiser by Northcote's own Nigel Haworth that together with a Verdelho da Perceguina of Alentejo, gave hints of wonders to come. Vila Joy's golden boy Matteo Farrantino delivered hamachi and oysters with cauliflower and Imperial caviar, together with a sparkling Colinas, that was even more delicious than it looked. Matteo was followed by L'And's Miguel Laffan with an artistically created fish dish (with the evening's longest title: "Cured Scottish Salmon with Almonds and Seaweed, Bergamot Tartar with Passion Fruit and Fennel"), accompanied by a 2013, Julia Kemper from the Dão region.
Still with the treasures of the sea in focus, Dieter Koschina's Blue Lobester with salted lemon was a study in true, tasteful simplicity and was followed by Lisbon's José Avillez with an oustanding Oxtail with peas, Foie Gras and Périgord truffles, paired with a 2012, Niepoort Poeirinho.
Vitor Matos rounded off the magical evening with a superb dessert: Bairrada Abadede Priscos pudding with Serrada Estrela cheese, Eggplant and Pumpkin, accompanied by a perfect 20 Years Ramos Pinto Tawny.
